Bail granted to intruder of world cup final match , Bail has been granted by A court in Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Tuesday i.e 21/11/23 to an Australian resident , who was arrested for intruding on the pitch during the ICC World Cup 2023 cricket final and he was wearing a pro-Palestine T-shirt.

A day earlier i.e on 20/11/23 the accused, Wen Johnson, was taken on remand in police custody for a day on court’s order. Johnson was produced before the court on Tuesday evening where he was released by court on bail on conditions that he would cooperate in the probe and deposit his passport with the court, said a senior city crime branch official.

wen Johnson had evaded security in world cup final and reached the pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when Virat Kohli was playing at the crease during the world final game against Australia on Sunday afternoon. He was immediately apprehended by security personnel because he breached the rules .

Johnson was immediately arrested by the Gujrat police on charges of criminal trespass and causing hurt to deter public servants from doing their duty.

Then investigation on this matter was handed over to the city crime branch on Monday which later took Johnson’s custody from the police and produced him before the court in Gandhinagar for further proceedings regarding this matter and then Bail granted to intruder.

According to the police report, Johnson went into the stadium just like any regular fan. He hopped over the railing and dashed towards the field, shoving aside cops in his determined effort to give Kohli a hug.

he entered the ground as he is a big fan of Virat Kohli , Johnson told police and it was also stated in FIR.

He had on a face mask with the design of the Palestinian flag and a T-shirt that had the messages ‘Stop bombing Palestine’ on the front and ‘Save Palestine’ on the back.

Initial investigations suggest that Johnson has a history of this kind of behavior and has previously been in trouble in his home country for intruding onto sports fields.
