Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen played really well, setting South Africa up for a great total. Then the bowlers did a fantastic job, bowling New Zealand out for 167. Marco Janesh took four wickets, and Keshav Maharaj got three.

This win was a big deal for South Africa as it was their biggest against New Zealand in ODIs. For the Black Caps, it was their fifth-heaviest ODI defeat.

The run-chase wasn’t easy, especially under the lights. Marco Jansen’s exceptional bowling troubled the New Zealand batters. He took two wickets early on, putting New Zealand in a tough spot. Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee also contributed with important wickets.

Keshav Maharaj also played a crucial role in getting wickets, with his third delivery dismissing Daryl Mitchell. Glenn Phillips put up a good fight with his 60 off 50, but once he was dismissed, the New Zealand team struggled to chase the target.

Earlier in the day, South Africa lost the toss and faced some early setbacks, losing the wicket of Temba Bavuma to Trent Boult. However, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen built an incredible partnership of 200 runs, setting a new record for South Africa against New Zealand in ODIs.

Thanks to their efforts, South Africa scored 190 runs in the second PowerPlay and finished strong with 119 runs in the last ten overs. David Miller also contributed with a quick 53. Unfortunately for New Zealand, they faced difficulties as Matt Henry couldn’t continue bowling due to an injury.

Overall, South Africa’s strong batting performance led them to their 10th win out of 11 games when batting first this year.

Final Scores: South Africa 357/4 in 50 overs (van der Dussen 133, de Kock 114; Southee 2-77) defeated New Zealand 167 in 35.3 overs (Phillips 60; Maharaj 4-46, Jansen 3-31) by 190 runs.
