Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has shared that he was not given a role with the Gujarat Titans team. He expressed his interest in being a mentor in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and mentioned that he approached Gujarat Titans’ head coach, Ashish Nehra, for a position, but the request was declined.
Yuvraj, a well-known player in the IPL, played for teams like Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians, featuring in 132 games and scoring 2750 runs with a highest score of 83.
On the international front, India is still waiting for an ICC trophy, facing another defeat in the 2023 World Cup final against Australia last year. The quest for an ICC trophy continues, putting focus on the team’s strategies and performances in major tournaments. Yuvraj’s revelation raises questions about mentorship roles in the IPL, prompting interest and discussion among cricket fans and experts.
Yuvraj Singh Recently Said Ashish Nehra declined his request.
“Let’s see what opportunities I get, but my priority is my kids right now. Once they start school, I will have more time. so I can pick up (coaching). I love working with the young guys, especially my state boys, and I feel that mentoring is something that I would love to do, and definitely to be part of one of the IPL teams, I’m definitely looking at,” said Yuvraj as quoted by PTI.
“I asked Mr Ashish Nehra (Gujarat Titans) for a job, but he declined it. So, let’s see where else I can get a position, but at the moment, I have to balance. “So, definitely in the coming years, I want to give back to cricket and help the young guys get better. I can contribute a lot,” he added.
