Two new faces, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Wes Agar, have earned spots in Australia’s lineup for the third T20I against the West Indies. Fraser-McGurk has quickly risen through the ranks, impressing with his performances in a couple of ODIs against the West Indies. Known for his aggressive batting style, the explosive opener is expected to debut in the upcoming T20I, possibly partnering with David Warner at the top of the order.

As for Agar, he showcased his skills in four matches during the 2023-24 Big Bash League season, where he claimed two wickets. While his international experience has been limited to a couple of ODIs during the 2021 tour of the Caribbean, Agar’s inclusion adds depth to Australia’s bowling lineup.

In addition to these new additions, there’s a minor change in the squad as well. Josh Hazlewood has been released to prepare for the upcoming series against New Zealand, with the experienced pacer heading back to Sydney to begin his training for the series starting on February 21.

“Although we’ve won the series, we want to win 3-0. That represents an exciting opportunity for us,” Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh said ahead of the third T20I against West Indies in Perth.

Australia is aiming to extend their winning streak against the West Indies in T20Is to six matches, a run that started back in 2021. The final match of the Windies’ tour of Australia is set to happen in Perth on Tuesday, February 13.
