Kashvee Gautam sold to Gujarat giants for INR 2 cr.

Kashvee Gautam is a right-arm seamer who gained attention in 2020 for her outstanding performance in a women’s domestic Under-19 one-day game, where she took a remarkable ten-wicket haul, including a hat-trick, while representing Chandigarh against Arunachal Pradesh. This achievement earned her a spot in one of the teams in the now-former Women’s T20 Challenge.

Despite going unsold in the Women’s Premier League auction last year, Gautam focused on improving her pace based on feedback from scouts. While her domestic cricket record has been consistent, she showcased her skills in the Women’s T20 trophy this year, taking 12 wickets in seven games with an economy rate of 4.14. Additionally, Gautam contributed to India’s success in the ACC Emerging tournament in Hong Kong as part of the Under-23 squad.

Indian uncapped player Kashvee Gautam made history in the Women’s Premier League by becoming the most expensive uncapped player, securing a whopping INR 2 crore from Gujarat Giants after a intense bidding battle.

Gautam set her base price at INR 10 lakh.

Gautam surpassed the previous record held by Vrinda Dinesh, who had been auctioned for INR 1.3 crore just moments before, as she was picked up by UP Warriorz. The auction witnessed a captivating episode of drama, with several franchises vying for Gautam, who had set her base price at INR 10 lakh.

The bidding started with the Giants making the initial offer, but quickly, the Royal Challengers Bangalore raised the stakes to INR 15 lakh. This triggered a strategic back-and-forth between the Giants and RCB, with the bid escalating past the INR 50 lakh mark. This intense bidding war highlighted the determination of both teams in this high-stakes competition.

The intensity reached new heights when UP Warriorz entered the competition at INR 75 lakh, introducing a fresh dynamic into the proceedings. However, the Giants displayed unwavering determination, pushing the bid well beyond the INR 1 crore threshold.

Not to be outdone, Warriorz countered with a bid of 1.1 crore, but the Giants preemptively raised the paddle, pushing the bid to 1.2 crore. Tension escalated as the Giants, sporting a wry smile, further raised the bid to a staggering 1.4 crore, marking a continued escalation in the auction.

The auction reached a significant moment as it paused at INR 2 crore, prompting a thoughtful discussion within the Warriorz camp. In a decisive move, Warriorz eventually withdrew from the bidding, bringing an end to the captivating bidding war.
