Yuvraj Singh’s impressive score of 358 runs for Punjab in the 1999 Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy final against Bihar had stood as a benchmark for over two decades. However, Prakhar Chaturvedi rewrote history with an extraordinary innings, amassing a colossal 404 runs (638 balls) against Mumbai at the KSCA Navule Stadium in Shimoga on Sunday (January 14). Notably, Prakhar’s innings is only second in the tournament’s history to Maharashtra’s Vijay Zol, who scored 451 runs, albeit not in a final.

Prakhar’s incredible knock included a staggering 46 fours and three sixes. Opening the innings for Karnataka, he displayed exceptional skill and resilience, remaining unbeaten as his team declared their innings at a monumental 890/8 after a marathon 223 overs.
