Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman for plays for Team India, recently pant shared that he thought he might not make it through after a scary car accident he had in December 2022.
Rishabh Pant Shares Candid Insights on His Car Accident
Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was in a serious car accident on December 30 near Haridwar. He was traveling to Roorkee to visit family when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing his car to crash into a divider and catch fire. Fortunately, Pant escaped with injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
During the accident near his hometown Roorkee, Pant got hurt badly. He had a tear in a ligament in his right knee and ended up with two cuts on his forehead. It was a really bad crash — his car even caught fire because of it. But luckily, Pant managed to get out of the car somehow.
In an interview with Star Sports, the 26-year-old, who hasn’t played since the accident, mentioned:
“First time in my life I felt like my time in this world is up. During the accident I was aware of the wounds, but I was lucky as it could have been even more serious.
“I was feeling that someone saved me. I asked the doctor how long will it take for me to recover. He said it would take 16-18 months. I knew I had to work hard to cut this recovery time.”

After the accident, Pant underwent surgery in Mumbai. He has consistently provided updates on his recovery and rehabilitation through social media.Recently Pant attended the Indian Premier League 2024 auction in Dubai last year. Reports suggest that he might return to the field by captaining the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024.
