Sanjay bangar Joins Punjab Kings In IPL 2024
Punjab Kings have just appointed Bangar as their new Head of Cricket Development for the upcoming 2024 season. This marks a significant return for Bangar, who previously served on their coaching staff from 2014 to 2016.
According to a statement from the franchise, “Mr. Bangar brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our organization, and we are confident that under his leadership, our cricket development programs will reach new heights.”
Notably, under Bangar’s guidance in 2014, PBKS (then Kings XI Punjab) secured a runners-up finish, which still stands as their best performance to date. However, the team has faced challenges in making the PlayOffs since then.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Bangar stated in a media release, “It’s my privilege to be with the Punjab Kings again. We have a solid core of players, as evidenced by the fact that we have the lowest number of player releases this year. The challenge is to provide the squad with the best possible support during and after the season to strengthen the team and achieve success.”
Bangar, who has previously coached the Indian team, also served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 and 2023 IPL editions. However, his contract was not renewed for the latest season.”
