Earning his spot in the ODI series, Burger’s journey reached a high point when he received his maiden Test cap on Boxing Day. His impactful debut saw him dismiss Yashavi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in the first hour, making an immediate impact. He later played a pivotal role in ending India’s innings at 245 by getting the crucial wicket of centurion KL Rahul on day 2.

Burger’s brilliance continued as he took a 4-wicket haul in India’s second innings, contributing significantly to the team’s effort in bowling out India for just 131. Burger concluded his maiden Test outing with an impressive seven-wicket haul, providing excellent support to Kagiso Rabada in the bowling department.

Despite missing the Test due to fitness issues, Lungi Ngidi took to his Instagram handle to applaud Nandre Burger’s stellar performance. Ngidi shared an intriguing story alongside a picture, expressing his admiration for Burger’s remarkable achievement on the field.
