In a gripping first day of their Sheffield Shield match in Hobart, reigning champions Western Australia staged a remarkable comeback to trail ladder leaders Tasmania by 65 runs with six wickets in hand.

Opting to bowl first on the challenging Blundstone Arena pitch, WA’s decision paid off handsomely as they bundled out Tasmania for 183 runs in just 49 overs. Spearheaded by quick Joel Paris, who claimed four crucial wickets for 48 runs, WA’s bowlers wreaked havoc on Tasmania’s top-order, leaving them reeling at 3-19 and 6-90.
