BCCI Clarifies Chetan Sakariya’s Innocent Mix-up: Not Listed Among Suspect Bowlers list of 7.

The Chetan Sakariya mix-up appears to be an innocent error on the part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The left-arm pacer is not included in the list of bowlers reported for a suspect action. This confusion was brought to light recently, stating that Sakariya was wrongly identified as one of the bowlers who are ‘reported but not banned.’ The BCCI is now taking steps to rectify this mistake.

BCCI Clarifies Chetan Sakariya’s Innocent Mix in Suspect Bowlers list.

Upon investigation with the Saurashtra team management, the state cricket association, and individuals close to the 25-year-old left-arm pacer, all expressed surprise, according to reports. Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) officials reached out to the BCCI, and it was later discovered that a player from the south zone with a similar name, Chetan, was supposed to be on the suspect list. This other Chetan, who was recently released by Delhi Capitals, is 27th in the auction roster with a base price of Rs 50 lakh, although he is not in the final auction list.

“It was a sort of miscommunication and error, and Chetan has never been called, and he is not on that list. I understand that the name of a Karnataka bowler should have been there, and the IPL is addressing the issue. The franchises are also being duly informed,” Jaydev Shah, the president of SCA.

Apart from Sakariya, several other notable domestic players, including Tanush Kotian of the Mumbai Cricket Association, Rohan Kunnummal of the Kerala Cricket Association, Chirag Gandhi of the Gujarat Cricket Association, Salman Nizar of the Kerala Cricket Association, Saurabh Dubey of the Vidarbha Cricket Association, and Arpit Guleria of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, are mentioned in the list. Additionally, Manish Pandey and KL Shrijith, both from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), have been banned from bowling.
