Afghanistan put on a great performance, putting pressure on the Netherlands and causing them to end up with a lower score than expected. Mujeeb took an early wicket by trapping Barresi in front in the first over. However, ODowd and Ackermann batted positively and managed to stabilize the Netherlands’ innings with a 50-run partnership. Just when things seemed to be going well for the Netherlands, there was a sudden shift in momentum – they lost 5 wickets for 40 runs, and their scoring rate slowed down. Three of the dismissals during this period were due to run-outs, while the other two were caught behind, putting the Netherlands in a tough spot.

Afghanistan had a chance to close the game right then, but Engelbrecht was given two lifelines after being dropped twice in quick succession. Those were tough catches, but fortunately for Afghanistan, they didn’t pay a high price for those misses. Engelbrecht fought hard and scored more than fifty runs, but an error in judgement led to his downfall – the fourth run-out of the innings. The Netherlands’ lower-order batsmen couldn’t contribute much, and they were eventually bowled out for 179 runs. Afghanistan’s spinners, especially Nabi and Noor, were outstanding, taking five wickets collectively.

Sybrand Engelbrecht was the highest run getter for the dutch side where he scored 58 runs out of 86 balls with 6 fours and with strike rate of 67.44. and for afghanistan nabi took 3 wickets in 9.3 overs and spend 28 runs
