Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India U19 got off to a promising start, with their top three batters showing early intent. However, they faltered slightly, losing three quick wickets with the scoreboard reading 62/3. It was then that Sachin Dhas and Uday Saharan took charge, forging a monumental partnership of 215 runs for the fourth wicket.
Sachin Dhas showcased his batting prowess with a magnificent knock, scoring a sensational 116 runs off just 101 deliveries, which included 11 boundaries and 3 towering sixes. His partner, Uday Saharan, complemented him brilliantly, anchoring the innings with a composed century, accumulating 100 runs off 107 balls.
The duo’s partnership propelled India U19 to a formidable total of 297/5 in their allotted 50 overs, setting a challenging target for Nepal U19 to chase down.
Nepal U19 Innings:
In pursuit of the target, Nepal U19 got off to a slow start, struggling to find momentum against a disciplined Indian bowling attack. Despite some resistance from their middle order, Nepal kept losing wickets at regular intervals, hampering their progress in the chase.
Saumy Pandey was the pick of the bowlers for India U19, delivering a stellar performance with the ball yet again. Pandey claimed his second successive four-wicket haul in the tournament, finishing with figures of 4/29 in his allotted 10 overs. His consistent line and length troubled the Nepalese batters, restricting them to a total of 165/9 in their 50 overs.
Although Nepal U19 fought valiantly, they fell short of the target, unable to cope with the pressure exerted by the Indian bowlers. Durgesh Gupta and Aakash Chand showed resilience in the latter stages of the innings, ensuring that Nepal U19 batted out their full quota of overs.
